Research into Similar Products

The first image is a still shot from Keaton Henson's music video, Healah. An aspect of this shot I took as inspiration for my video was the portrayal of suggestion by the use of blurring subjects. The man in the white shirt is a significant part to the video however he is blurred. this creates anticipation for the viewer. I used this technique in my video by creating Imagery such as the still shot below. Instead of blurring the subject I used effects to alter colour, brightness and contrast, as well as turning the middle of the shot into a fish eye effect. This meant that the viewer's perception of reality is warped into what I want them to see, similarly, in Keaton Henson's video, the reality of the shot is warped into what the director wants the viewer to see. 

To amplify this, the use of reflection from the water further signified the ideology that what is visual is not always reality.

Problems I Had When Filming

Me and my artist arranged to start filming on the 16th of February at 10 o' clock because she had to be home at 4 o'clock. However I couldn't get in touch with her till 11:30am because she was asleep. 

Another problem we had was that the sd card didn't save the footage we spent all day recording. I have the sd card to my artist to save onto her computer so we had a backup of the files however there was no files on the card.

For one filming session I had to call it off because I was ill. This meant that we had to reschedule it for the 16th of February 

On 26/02/15 we filmed in Hornsea. A problem we had with this was that we didn't check when the tide was going to be in because we were filming on the beach. We arrived at the beach as 12 o' clock and the tide was due in at 1 o' clock. This meant we were only able to film for an hour. However, we achieved all we needed to film in this space of time so we luckily didn't have to plan another trip for another day. We should've used this website, magicseaweed.co.uk, to check when the tide was going to be in.

When I am Going to Film Next and the Meanings Behind the Scenes

On Monday the 16th of February I've arranged a full day of filming with my artist to finish off the rest of the video. We are going to go to Hornsea beach to film a variety of scenes such as a scene where my artist is going to walk into the ocean, starting off as a medium shot and prgressing to a long shot. The artist will eventually disappear into the ocean with the use of editing. This will represent the conjunction from reality and the end of living a life on earth. My intention is to express a connotation of mental illness and a disconnection of reality which will be shown as a Bildungsroman (A story of a character through time showing the development of personality or maturity of a person) throughout the video. My intention is to show the artist developing a vision of reality which is disturbed, distorted and dark.
Another shot I will take would be a medium shot of my artist standing on a rock surrounded by water, such as this shot in the film superman, however instead of an extreme long shot i will use a medium shot which zooms out to a long shot to show the artist's disconnection from reality.

This is an image of Hornsea beach, I will use one of the rocks in the sea to achieve this shot and use appropriate framing so that it appears that the artist is out at sea on a tiny island
